Before David faced the giant, he faced critisism from his own flesh and blood, his brother. To his brother who lacked the personal relationship that David developed while tending “..those few sheep”, Davids confidence appeared to be arrogance to him. David was not phased by the taunt of his brother and continued to let the Lord identify him. Confidence unfortunately looks like arrogance to those who place their faith in their effort and works.
